DJ CLARK KENT PASSES AT 58 AFTER QUIET BATTLE WITH COLON CANCER

DJ Clark Kent, born Rodolfo Franklin, has passed away at 58 after a quiet yet courageous three-year fight with colon cancer. His family shared the news, honouring his life and career in a heartfelt statement, expressing gratitude for the love and support received during this difficult time. 

Clark passed away on Thursday evening, surrounded by his wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah, and son Antonio, who were by his side in his final moments.

Renowned as a DJ and producer, Clark Kent started his music journey in New York’s vibrant club scene of the 1980s. He quickly rose in the hip-hop world, producing the breakout hit “Player’s Anthem” with Junior M.A.F.I.A., featuring The Notorious B.I.G. His work contributed to the golden era of hip-hop, later earning him accolades for his role in shaping Jay-Z’s debut album, Reasonable Doubt, on which he produced three key tracks. 

Known also for introducing Jay-Z to his future business partner Damon Dash, Kent played a pivotal role in the rise of Roc-A-Fella Records.

Throughout his career, DJ Clark Kent left a lasting impact on the music industry, working with hip-hop icons like Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, Rakim, Mariah Carey, and more. 

His legacy in hip-hop is deeply felt, marking him as a beloved and influential figure. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter, who have requested privacy as they mourn his passing.
