Burna Boy’s ‘Love Damini’ Goes Gold In The U.S

Burna Boy keeps raising the bar. His ‘Love Damini’ album just went Gold in the U.S.,  hitting over 500,000 units sold. But it’s not the first time this project has made waves on the international scene.

In October 2023, the album bagged Gold certification in the UK after moving 100,000 units, making Burna the first African artist to have two Gold-certified albums in the UK.

This UK feat also means ‘Love Damini’ stands among only three African albums to earn a Gold plaque in the region, rubbing shoulders with Burna’s own African Giant and Wizkid’s Made in Lagos.

The wins didn’t stop there. Back home, in October 2023, Burna Boy’s groundbreaking journey hit new heights as TurnTable Charts handed him an insane 11 plaques for dominating the Nigerian music landscape.

At a private party in Lagos, Burna’s record-smashing accomplishments were celebrated, showing just how deep his influence runs both locally and globally.

On the Nigerian front, Love Damini was certified 5x Platinum, the highest any album has ever achieved in the country’s history.

The Sungba (Remix) crushed records too, becoming the highest certified single in Nigeria with 4x Platinum. Last Last and Common Person weren’t far behind, both clocking in at 3x Platinum. Not to be outdone, For My Hand and It’s Plenty both scooped up 2x Platinum, while B. D’or, Second Sermon (Remix), I Told Them, and Different Size all hit Platinum. To top it off, Alone earned a Gold certification.

Burna’s run is a masterclass in breaking barriers and setting new standards, proving that the African Giant’s global takeover is far from done.
