WHAT WENT DOWN AT CAMP FLOG GNAW 2024?

At Camp Flog Gnaw, there is always good music to look forward to! It is the very essence of the festival after all, a celebration of sound that resonates in every show. 

Pioneered by none other than the iconic American rapper and record producer Tyler, the Creator, this annual music festival has been a hallmark of excellence since its inception in 2012.

 Held at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, almost every year since its inception, it has become a haven for music lovers.  

The festivities at this event are unparalleled. Anyone who has experienced Camp Flog Gnaw, whether in person at LA’s vibrant grounds or virtually through Amazon Prime and Twitch, will attest to its electric atmosphere. 

It’s an event that elevates participants to the highest peaks of exhilaration and excitement, thanks to the music.

 The sweet, intense, and passionate performances delivered by remarkable artists–masters of their craft–form the heartbeat of this extraordinary carnival.  

This year’s festival, held on November 16 and 17, was no exception. It was a dazzling spectacle charged with energy and featuring artists who treated their performances as personal missions to thrill the audience. The lineup included Tyler, the Creator, Daniel Caesar, Kaytranada, Omar Apollo, Doechii, Concrete Boys, Lithe, Rio Amor, Playboi Carti, Mustard & Friends, The Marías, Erykah Badu, Syd, Raye, and many more.  

One artist who stood out this year was Doechii. She delivered a riveting performance that elevated the show from delightful to extraordinary.

 Her commanding stage presence, captivating delivery, and sheer artistry set her apart. 

The American rapper and singer performed with such flair, animated energy, and theatricality that it was impossible for the audience to remain unmoved. 

Her rap lyrics, a literal telling of  life experiences, were rendered with smooth fluid rhythms, delivered and enforced with hard hitting punchlines. With each song, Doechii effortlessly pulled the crowd into her orbit, transferring her boundless energy to the sea of fans before her as she spun her gripping stories, musically.  

Notably, Doechii performed alongside Tyler, the Creator and on her set, the immensely talented R&B singer-songwriter SZA joined her to give a powerful performance as the audience chanted and screamed along. Her official DJ, the exceptionally skilled Miss Milan, further elevated the performance with seamless mixes and electrifying beats.  

This year’s Camp Flog Gnaw was truly an unforgettable event, and Doechii played a pivotal role in its success. Her stunning performance left an indelible mark, ensuring that every attendee departed with cherished memories of an artist at the peak of her powers. Certainly, it was a performance that will resonate long after the festival’s final note.
