Valentino Garavani’s fall 2025 collaboration with Vans, revealed in its Le Méta-Théâtre Des Intimités show, brings together the worlds of couture and skate in a way that feels less collision and more convergence. The campaign returns to the red-tiled aesthetic Valentino used on the runway, but this time the visuals are drenched, literally. Water floods tiled bathrooms; faucets drip as tiles seem to bleed color. Stills and video alike lean into the surreal: models wade through shallow waves, recline in bathtubs filling from outside, all while Valentino handbags and Vans Authentic sneakers, canvas uppers and signature waffle soles intact, remain afloat.
What lifts the campaign beyond just stylish visuals is how it plays with dualities. The checkerboard motifs native to Vans merge with Valentino’s red “V” branding. Texture and mood go from solid (tiled walls, structured bags) to fluid (water, reflections). It’s a metaphor for release and rebirth, letting streetwear codes meet couture glamour in a space that’s part performance, part dream. The “Le Chat de la Maison” piece stands out, exclusive to Valentino and select flagships, adding a whimsical flourish to the mix.
