VALENTINO FALL 2025: POETIC STILLNESS OVER SPECTACLE

Alessandro Michele delivers a subtle revolution with The Poetics of Everyday, a Valentino Fall/Winter 2025 campaign that reframes fashion through the lens of quiet attention. Gone are the maximalist gestures, here, intimacy is excavated from stillness, captured through cinematic scenes that feel both familiar and uncanny.

Photographed by Glen Luchford and art directed by Christopher Simmonds, the visuals are set against pastel-toned backdrops like nostalgic ice cream parlors, where surreal elements, a horseback rider, a melting cone, a Rubik’s Cube, hover quietly within everyday rituals. These frozen vignettes become portals to a deeper narrative, inviting the viewer to look again.

The wardrobe feels timeless yet thoughtful: mid-century tailoring, pussy-bow blouses, vintage coats, and sharp suiting are grounded with modern layers and mismatched texture play. It’s heritage reimagined, eclectic, accessible, emotionally tuned, worn by emerging faces like Kai Schreiber, Scarlett White, and Sophie Thatcher, who embody the campaign’s blend of nostalgia and now.

As described in Michele’s manifesto-like statement, the campaign responds to a world of visual noise by cultivating an “ethics for the gaze,” encouraging us to linger on the “infinitely small,” rediscovering poetry in the ordinary. In doing so, Valentino’s campaign doesn’t shout; it whispers, requiring attention, reflection, and reward.
