TYLER, THE CREATOR REINVENTS HERITAGE STYLE WITH CONVERSE’S NEW 1908 ARCHIVES COLLECTION

Tyler, The Creator continues his legacy of boundary-pushing fashion with the launch of the Converse 1908 Archives Collection, a stunning fusion of vintage silhouettes and modern flair. This latest partnership with Converse marks the debut of their new 1908 Program, a bold initiative aimed at breathing new life into archival footwear through the creative lens of contemporary designers. Tyler, under his widely celebrated GOLF le FLEUR* brand, leads the charge with a refreshing take on two reimagined classics: the Naut-1 (1971) and the Coach Jogger (1976).

The Naut-1, once a lifestyle boat shoe from the early ’70s, returns with a vibrant, whimsical makeover that’s unmistakably Tyler. The sneaker now features rich suede finishes in playful tones like “Brown Suede,” “Starlight Blue,” and “Cannoli Cream.” Nautical rope-style laces give it a textural edge, while stitched floral details and a quirky Darryl the Dog emblem on the tongue, tie the shoe back to Tyler’s eccentric style DNA. 

Meanwhile, the Coach Jogger, initially designed as a 1976 Olympic training shoe, steps into 2025 with a sleek retro runner silhouette. With a nylon base, suede overlays, and a minimalist profile, it comes dressed in colors like “Forest Green,” “Mustard Yellow,” and more, adorned subtly with GOLF le FLEUR* accents that evoke nostalgia while staying undeniably current.

This capsule not only honors Converse’s long-standing heritage, it redefines it. Tyler’s reinterpretation emphasizes a shift from his earlier pastel-heavy, floral-drenched motifs to a more mature, archival-inspired aesthetic that still captures his idiosyncratic charm. The collection is the first release from Converse’s broader 1908 Program, hinting at more archival revivals through modern collaborations in the near future.

Set to officially drop on June 20, 2025, the Converse 1908 Archives Collection will be available exclusively on Converse.com, with a limited pop-up experience taking place in Los Angeles on June 12. The pop-up will offer fans a chance to preview the collection in person and experience the artistry behind the designs before the global launch.
