On an interesting note, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made its highly anticipated return in 2024 after a five-year hiatus. The show, which had been canceled in 2019 due to declining viewership and criticisms over its lack of diversity, came back with promises of more inclusivity and a modernized vision.
The 2024 event featured the iconic “wings” and glamorous runway fashion, but with a refreshed lineup of models and performers that better reflect today’s standards.

Notably, Tyra Banks returned to the runway for the first time since 2005, joining other veterans like Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo. Additionally, Gigi Hadid, Imaan Hammam, Anok Yai, and Taylor Hill were among the models walking the runway.
For the first time, plus-sized models Paloma Elsesser and Ashley Graham also graced the stage, marking a step forward in body inclusivity. Musically, the show featured iconic performances by Cher, K-pop star Lisa, and South African star, Tyla, who delivered a dazzling performance

Another African star to grace the show was Nigerian supermodel model Mayowa Nicholas. Mayowa Nicholas returned to the runway after debuting at the 2018 show. Known for her work with luxury brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, and Saint Laurent, she continues to be a global presence in high fashion.
South Sudanese model, Alaato Jazyper was also on the runway

This year’s show aired on October 15, streamed live via Amazon Prime Video and YouTube, aiming to reach a broader and more engaged audience.
