The Nigerian men’s senior football team, Super Eagles, remain 39th in the latest FIFA world rankings.
This comes on the heels of their recent performances in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they defeated the Benin Republic and drew with Rwanda.
Despite these results, Nigeria kept their place among the top 40 football nations globally.
Meanwhile, in Africa, the Super Eagles currently rank as the sixth best, behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia.
The Black Stars of Ghana and Bafanas of South Africa are ranked 70th and 59th respectively.
Nigeria is currently looking for a new head coach as they prepare for the next round of AFCON qualifiers next month, where they will face Libya in a Group D match. The Super Eagles are leading their group with four points from two games.
