Stüssy, the iconic California-based streetwear brand, is set to reestablish its presence in New York City with a new flagship store in the Nolita neighborhood. The upcoming store set to open on the 14th February, 2025, will occupy a 5,600-square-foot space at 50 Prince Street, previously home to the independent bookstore McNally Jackson. This move comes after the brand closed its former SoHo location at 176 Spring Street in late 2023, a space that has since become the Denim Tears storefront by Tremaine Emory. The decision to open a new store in Manhattan follows the success of Stüssy’s archive pop-up in Brooklyn during the spring of 2024, which featured rare collaborations and vintage pieces. The Nolita location places Stüssy among other prominent streetwear retailers such as Aimé Leon Dore, Noah, and Undefeated, further cementing the area’s reputation as a fashion hub. While an official opening date has not been announced, the brand’s return to Manhattan signifies a strategic effort to strengthen its foothold in New York’s competitive fashion market.
This expansion is part of Stüssy’s broader global growth strategy, which has seen the opening of flagship stores in Chengdu, China, and Milan, Italy, earlier in 2024. Founded in 1984, Stüssy has maintained its position at the forefront of streetwear fashion, blending its California roots with international influence. The new Nolita store is anticipated to attract both loyal customers and new shoppers seeking the brand’s unique offerings, contributing to the dynamic fashion landscape of New York City.
