Sony Offers Refurbished PS5s at Half the Price of PS5 Pro

Sony is now selling refurbished PlayStation 5 consoles for those who haven’t yet made the upgrade, ordering them at a reduced price. During the latest PlayStation Direct, the company revealed that “Certified Refurbished” PS5s will be available for $350. This price point is half the cost of the recently announced PS5 Pro, which is set to retail for $700.

These refurbished units are typically unsellable as new due to being returned by buyers, even if they were barely used or just unboxed without actual gameplay. Sony appears to be clearing out its PS5 stock in anticipation of the PS5 Pro’s release, which is scheduled for early November.

Sony has assured that each refurbished console undergoes extensive cleaning, inspection, and testing to ensure it’s in like-new condition. They are also fitted with genuine PlayStation replacement parts if needed. Additionally, all refurbished consoles will be covered by a 12-month warranty. While the official launch date for this “Certified Refurbished” program hasn’t been confirmed, Sony has stated that it will be available “soon.”
