SLAWN X NIKE AIR MAX 90 COLLABORATION LEAKED

Nike is reportedly collaborating with British-Nigerian artist Slawn on two Air Max 90 colorways, set to release in March. While Nike has not officially announced the project, images of the sneakers surfaced online this week, revealing the artist’s signature bold and playful style. Sneaker News inadvertently leaked the shoes on Tuesday after they were listed for sale prematurely by German retailer Asphalt Gold. The retailer has since removed the listings, likely realizing the project’s exclusivity.

The sneakers feature distinct Slawn-inspired elements, including heel badges with faces resembling his signature style, embossed drawings on the leather uppers, and unique design touches like paint speckles and irregular Swooshes. The Air Max 90s come in two colorways: black (FD6492-001) and white (FD6492-100). A YouTube video from the Netherlands showcased one of the pairs, revealing a graffiti-style “Air Slawn” label on the shoe box, though the creator did not connect the design to the artist.

Despite the premature exposure, hints of Slawn’s connection to Nike have been visible for months. At Art Basel in Miami last December, Slawn was seen with Nike collaborators and attended events wearing unreleased Nike designs. He even shared a photo of a conference call with Nike on Instagram, further indicating the partnership.

Neither Nike nor Slawn has commented on the collaboration. However, the accidental reveal has already generated significant buzz, marking Slawn’s debut as a Nike collaborator and highlighting the brand’s ongoing efforts to align with bold, artistic voices in the sneaker community.
