Nicki Minaj has scrapped plans for the deluxe edition of her recent album, Pink Friday 2, opting instead to release an entirely new project, Pink Friday 3. Just last month, Minaj teased the deluxe version, titled Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded, which was set to feature a posthumous collaboration with Juice Wrld.
However, Minaj explained that she decided to let Pink Friday 2 stand on its own, feeling that adding extra songs to the album would compromise its integrity. “Instead of doing a deluxe version of Pink Friday 2, I’ve decided to drop a brand-new album,” she shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter). She noted that the new music was simply too good to be part of a deluxe edition and that recording additional tracks felt “sloppy.”
She reassured fans that songs like “Mamita” and another track addressing anxiety will still be included in her current tour, with the release date for Pink Friday 3 expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Minaj also promised to drop something for her fans ahead of the official release.
Pink Friday, Minaj’s debut album, was released in 2010, and she is currently on tour in North America promoting Pink Friday 2.
