Netflix is set to unveil a powerful tribute to Formula 1 icon Ayrton Senna in its new series Senna, giving fans an inside look at the Brazilian driver’s rise from humble beginnings to motorsport legend. Starring Gabriel Leone as Senna, the series explores his career from his early days in Formula Ford to his tragic death in the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, a turning point that shook the racing world. Known for his daring spirit and sheer skill, Senna secured three F1 World Championships and an impressive 41 Grand Prix wins, making him a symbol of racing prowess and Brazilian pride.
This six-part limited series, primarily shot in Portuguese with some English dialogue, dives deep into Senna’s journey, not only through his racing achievements but also through his close relationships.
Viewers will witness his bond with supportive parents, Miltão (played by Marco Ricca) and Zaza (Susana Ribeiro), and his romantic life with his girlfriend Xuxa (Pâmela Tomé). Adding drama to the mix, Kaya Scodelario stars as Laura Harrison, a reporter who becomes a close confidant, while Matt Mella portrays Alain Prost, Senna’s fierce McLaren rival.
