Netflix Drops Official ‘Starting 5’ Trailer

Features Unfiltered Truths from NBA Superstars

Netflix has officially unveiled the trailer for its upcoming NBA docuseries, Starting 5, which spotlights five of the league’s top superstars: LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, and Domantas Sabonis.

The series takes fans behind the scenes, offering an intimate look at the daily lives of these basketball giants. It dives into their rigorous training routines, the mental and physical challenges they face, and how they juggle their careers with family life, all while striving to build lasting legacies. 

Directed by Susan Ansman, Trishtan Williams, and Peter J. Scalettar, Starting 5 is backed by high-profile executive producers, including Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron, and Randy Mims from UNINTERRUPTED; former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama from Higher Ground; and Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, and Sam Pepper from Omaha Productions.

According to the official description, “James pushes himself harder than ever to stay healthy and maintain dominance in his 21st season, while Edwards makes waves with his rapid ascent. Butler’s relentless determination fuels the Heat, Sabonis holds down the Kings with his versatile skills, and Tatum leads the Celtics in pursuit of a record-breaking 18th championship. The 10-episode series, with each episode running for 45 minutes, will premiere on Netflix on October 9.
