NBA YoungBoy has officially set a date for his 6th studio album, “I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders,” which will be released on December 6.
The rapper shared the news with fans on Instagram, even though he’s keeping further details about the project under wraps.
The release date arrives after the rapper had announced the project sometime in March. This was done alongside the release of his single, “Catch Him,” a hard-hitting track produced by PlayboyXO and Spacy.
Packed with gritty lyrics and energetic beats, the single showcased the raw style that fans have come to expect from YoungBoy.
The music video for “Catch Him” gives a glimpse of the rapper’s Salt Lake City lifestyle, as he dances outside his mansion and lounges with masked companions indoors.
The new album will be YoungBoy’s first major project since a series of successful releases last year, including I Rest My Case and Richest Opp, as well as the Green Flag Activity compilation with his Never Broke Again collective.
Earlier in August, the rapper pleaded guilty to a trial in Louisiana for a 2020 weapons charge.
The case was then transferred to Utah, where Youngboy was charged with prescription drug fraud charges.
He allegedly had a handgun while filming a music video in Baton Rouge. He was among 15 arrested and over a dozen guns seized.
In September, the father of 12 was sentenced to 27 months in prison as part of a plea agreement.
His lawyer secured a favorable deal, with the rapper expected to serve around 12 months with credit for time already served.
In addition to his prison term, Youngboy will also face five years of probation.
