The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards pulled out all the stops for its 30th anniversary bash, lighting up Manchester’s Co-op Live on November 10. In a lineup packed with global and breakout stars, Taylor Swift set the stage with seven nominations.
Ayra Starr, Rema, and Tems, whose talents have carved out powerful spaces for them in Afrobeat, bagged nominations for Best Afrobeat and Best New, where they stood toe-to-toe with Tyla and lost to her.
Meanwhile, pop dynamo Ariana Grande scooped up Best Pop, and Sabrina Carpenter claimed Best Song for “Espresso.” Eminem reminded the world why he’s a hip-hop legend, taking home Best Hip-Hop, while Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish were right there, giving fans a packed night of star power. Swift continued her clean sweep, bagging Best Artist and Best Video for “Fortnight” alongside Post Malone, adding more gold to her trophy wall.
The EMAs spread love to a globe-spanning lineup, from K-pop to Latin and beyond. It was a showcase of talent without borders, amplifying voices from Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
