Today marks the beginning of history being made by Mayor Olajide. The artist will attempt a world record for the longest marathon drawing live caricatures by an individual, celebrating art, creativity, and culture. He is going to do this for 100 hours! From 27th November to the 1st of December, 2024.
The current Guinness World Record for the longest marathon drawing live caricatures by an individual is held by Indian artist Hariom Kumar Singh. He achieved this feat by drawing continuously for 77 hours, 1 minute, and 16 seconds from November 8 to 11, 2017, in Uttar Pradesh, India. During this time, he created 712 different caricatures.

However, another Nigerian, Peter Enehe, attempted and broke the record for the longest marathon drawing live caricatures by an individual; He surpassed the previous record of 77 hours, 1 minute, and 16 seconds at the 78-hour mark during his 90-hour drawing attempt. The event was held from January 25 to 28, 2024, at Chinbell Luxury Hotel and Suites in Lagos. It is yet to be confirmed whether the Guinness World Records team has acknowledged Peter Enehe’s record-breaking feat. While Enehe surpassed the previous 77-hour record during his 90-hour marathon, official recognition is still pending.
This new attempt will be live at WBF, Lekki town square mall. You can stream on YouTube through Mayor Olajide’s channel.
