MAISON MARGIELA X GENTLE MONSTER DROPS NEW COLLECTION FOR 2025

In a bold fusion of luxurious fashion and innovative eyewear design, French luxury fashion house Maison Margiela and South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster have unveiled their latest collaborative collection in New York City. This partnership, now in its third iteration, showcases a series of architectonic eyewear pieces that blend Maison Margiela’s signature design elements with Gentle Monster’s futuristic aesthetics. The collection was teased and unveiled on February 28, 2025, launched yesterday, 6th of March and is available through April 30, 2025, at Gentle Monster’s flagship store in New York City. 

The New York City pop-up installation offers visitors an immersive experience that reflects the creative synergy between the two brands. The space features avant-garde displays, including giant kinetic faces symbolizing anonymity—a core theme in Maison Margiela’s design philosophy. These installations incorporate the iconic white stitches and the number ⑧, representing the eyewear category, subtly integrated into the product designs. The pop-up not only serves as a retail space but also as an art installation, inviting visitors to engage with the conceptual underpinnings of the collection.

The eyewear collection itself comprises a range of genderless designs, including eight sunglasses and twelve spectacles. Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, featuring structured acetate frames in glossy finishes of black, white, grey, cream, transparent, and tortoiseshell. Some designs also incorporate leather-framed editions in hues like black, ivory, khaki, and blue, adding a touch of sophistication. The frames are adorned with Maison Margiela’s distinctive four-stitch logo, seamlessly blending the brand’s identity with Gentle Monster’s innovative approach to eyewear design. 

This collaboration underscores both brands’ commitment to experimental craftsmanship and conceptual design.
