Chicago rapper Lil Durk was arrested in South Florida on Thursday, October 24, and is now facing a murder-for-hire charge, XXL reports. The 32-year-old rapper was taken into custody in Broward County, Fla., where he is being held without bond. Lil Durk remains in the Broward County Jail while awaiting transfer to the custody of U.S. Marshals. No further details on his arrest have been released.
His arrest occurred shortly after five Chicago natives, who are reportedly associated with Lil Durk’s OTF (Only the Family) collective, were also taken into custody.
These individuals have been charged with both murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, linked to the 2022 killing of Saviay’a Robinson, 24, who was the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo. This incident took place in Los Angeles.
According to an indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, prosecutors allege that all five men are linked to OTF.
The indictment claims that the label’s credit card was used to cover travel expenses for the suspects, including flights and rental cars. Prosecutors also allege that a member of OTF promised “lucrative music opportunities” to anyone who would carry out the hit on Quando Rondo.
