Levi’s and Bode are leaning into craftsmanship and sentimentality with their new “Rodeo Bodeo” collaboration, a denim-focused capsule built around meticulous detailing and personal storytelling.
At the center of the project is the Bode Barrel Racer Jean, a straight-leg silhouette offered in two washes. The lighter wash channels early 1950s rodeo-era denim, decorated with silver studs and red gem embellishments, while the darker version features copper studs running down the side seams. Both styles are constructed from 14-ounce preshrunk selvedge denim, reinforcing the heritage craftsmanship both labels are known for.
The collaboration also carries a deeply personal touch from Bode founder Emily Adams Bode Aujla. Her childhood pony, Checkers, becomes a recurring motif throughout the design. A special co-branded label references the horse, while the waistband’s shadow patch features “Bode” embroidered in chain stitch.
Further details continue the storytelling. Inside the waistband, a woven label reads “Mr. Checkers’s Favorite Pair,”while the traditional Levi’s red tab is replaced with a distinct purple tab for the collaboration. The interior pocket bag even includes a vintage childhood photo of Emily with Checkers, finished with her childhood signature.
The Levi’s × Bode Barrel Racer Jean will first release exclusively at Bode Tokyo on April 3, followed by a wider launch on April 10 at Bode stores in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles, as well as online.
In a collaboration built on heritage denim, it’s the small personal details that ultimately make the biggest statement.
