LANRE DA SILVA CELEBRATES SUSTAINABLE FASHION WITH LDA RUNWAY RENAISSANCE

Renowned Nigerian designer Lanre Da Silva (LDA) has unveiled the LDA Runway Renaissance, an initiative designed to spotlight emerging African designers and promote sustainable fashion practices.

 This platform not only showcases new seasonal collections but also champions eco-conscious craftsmanship while supporting local producers, where celebrities like Rita Dominic walked the runway. 

The collection features various colorful and chic designs that catch the eye. 

The LDA Runway Renaissance brings together three talented designers from diverse backgrounds, each telling stories of cultural heritage and social responsibility through their creations.

Featured Designers:

  1. Adebukola Adeogun
    A passionate fashion entrepreneur and advocate for women’s empowerment, Adebukola merges her creativity with business expertise through multiple ventures, including Bukola Neville Limited and Fabrithread Cycle Limited. Her collection, Neville Dechets, is inspired by the concept of rebirth, using reclaimed materials to create unique pieces that highlight the beauty of transformation and hope.
  2. Ugochukwu Onukwubiri
    The Creative Director of 1407Style, Ugochukwu’s brand has been redefining androgynous Nigerian fashion for over 14 years. Committed to affordability and timeless style, the brand uses high-quality, eco-friendly, and upcycled fabrics. His collection, LIFE, explores the complexities of human experiences, urging wearers to embrace perspectives beyond binary definitions.
  3. Abisoye Olorunnimbe
    A law graduate turned visionary fashion entrepreneur, Abisoye is the Creative Director of HUE, a label known for its use of vibrant Nigerian textiles and luxury fabrics. Her collection, Blossom, celebrates individuality and confidence with bold prints and dynamic designs, emphasizing unbridled self-expression.

Lanre Da Silva, the creative force behind the initiative, emphasized the importance of sustainability and collaboration in fashion’s future. She shared that the platform was created to elevate local talent to a global stage while inspiring a shift toward conscious fashion choices.

With nearly 20 years of success, LDA has been recognized internationally, including partnerships with global brands like Dolce & Gabbana and participation in prestigious events like the Pitti Immagine Trade Show in Italy. This latest initiative reaffirms LDA’s commitment to driving social impact and nurturing Africa’s thriving fashion ecosystem.
