Lady Gaga has announced a surprise album, Harlequin, slated for release this Friday.
The project will be a companion album to the upcoming Joker: Folie À Deux film and soundtrack.
Gaga took to her Instagram page to confirm the release date, September 27th, sharing the project’s official art cover.
“Harlequin. September 27. A companion album to Joker: Folie à Deux,” her post reads.
Alongside the album announcement, the pop star also shared the track list for Harlequin by including a photo of a milk carton from Gayle Valley Farms (likely a reference to Joker: Folie à Deux), with the titles of the 13 songs printed onto it.

“Harlequin” won’t be considered her next studio album. Despite being billed as a solo project, Gaga has described it as a companion piece. This simply means that “Harlequin” will offer something unique, expanding on her previous work without replacing her traditional album sequence.
