Kim Jones made a shocking announcement of his departure from Fendi, where he has served as the artistic director of womenswear and couture since 2020.
His exit, effective as of October 2024, allows him to focus fully on his role as creative director of Dior Men, a position he has held since 2018. During his tenure at Fendi, Jones was known for blending Roman elegance with modern streetwear influences and spearheaded notable collaborations, including one with Kim Kardashian‘s Skims. He also moved the brand towards sustainability by reducing the use of fur.
Fendi SS25
Jones’ final collection for Fendi (SS25), presented in September 2024, drew inspiration from the 1920s, celebrating the brand’s roots as Fendi approaches its centenary in 2025.
As the fashion industry faces several leadership changes, a new creative structure for Fendi is expected to be announced soon.
Kim Jones’ departure is part of a broader reshuffling at LVMH, which recently saw Hedi Slimane exit Celine and Sarah Burton take over Givenchy.
