Rising British-Nigerian producer, Kambili Ofili has won the Best Film, African Diaspora category with “Shaping Us”, at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TINFF).
Excited to share the news, Ofili shared an image of the award on her Instagram page, with a caption, expressing her passion and gratitude.
Being her debut, she emphasized her efforts on the movie shoot, production and with hopes that the movie will get and connect to its desired audience.
“I poured my heart and soul into this film, and I’m incredibly humbled by the recognition it has received. I hope Shaping Us will spark conversations and empathy around often stigmatized topics and make viewers navigating these situations in their real lives feel seen and understood.” she said.
Ofili is a rising movie producer and owner of Clear Skies Films & Production, a black and woman-led film production company. Its mission is to showcase relatable and diverse African stories using good cinematography.
The company is committed to producing films that challenge stereotypes and inspire change.
