Former professional footballer José Semedo has been appointed Acting CEO of Saudi club Al Nassr. The move marks a major transition for the ex-midfielder, who is widely known for his close friendship with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Semedo joined Al Nassr’s management team two years ago, quietly building experience behind the scenes. Now, he’s stepping into a top leadership role as the club pushes forward with its ambitions in both domestic and international football.
Speaking on his appointment, Semedo said:
“We will do everything it takes to build something extraordinary.”
Semedo played most of his club football in Europe, including long spells at Vitória Setúbal and Sheffield Wednesday. His close bond with Ronaldo has lasted over two decades, beginning in their early days at Sporting CP.
With Ronaldo still playing a central role at Al Nassr, Semedo’s new position could help strengthen the club’s internal structure and its influence off the pitch.
