JONATHAN ANDERSON DEPARTS LOEWE AFTER 11 YEARS AS CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Jonathan Anderson has announced his departure from Loewe after an influential 11-year tenure as creative director. Since joining the Spanish luxury house in 2013, Anderson has been instrumental in revitalizing the brand, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design to elevate Loewe’s global standing.

Under Anderson’s leadership, Loewe experienced significant growth and innovation. He introduced iconic pieces such as the Puzzle bag and established the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, underscoring his commitment to merging heritage with modernity. His visionary approach not only attracted a younger audience but also solidified Loewe’s position as a leading luxury brand.

In his farewell statement, Anderson expressed profound gratitude to his team and collaborators, reflecting on the brand’s evolution during his tenure. He emphasized that Loewe’s story would continue, expressing pride in the foundations laid during his leadership.

While Loewe has yet to announce Anderson’s successor, industry speculation suggests that designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, formerly of Proenza Schouler, may assume the creative helm. Additionally, rumors indicate that Anderson might be joining Dior, another LVMH label, though no official confirmation has been made.
