The 2024 Fashion Awards lit up the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday night, hosted by the British Fashion Council (BFC). The highlight of the evening was Jonathan Anderson, who took home the prestigious Designer of the Year award. Competing against icons like John Galliano (Maison Margiela), Miuccia Prada (Miu Miu), Pieter Mulier (Alaïa), and Rick Owens, Anderson’s achievement solidifies his place as a leading visionary in global fashion. Expressing his gratitude, Anderson reflected on his love for the craft, sharing, “Fashion is what gets me out of bed every morning,” and acknowledged the influence of Tom Ford.
Other top honors included Simone Rocha, who claimed British Womenswear Designer of the Year, surpassing talents like Erdem Moralıoğlu (Erdem) and Roksanda Ilinčić (Roksanda).
Grace Wales Bonner triumphed in the British Menswear Designer of the Year category for her eponymous label, Wales Bonner.
The BFC Foundation Award, which supports emerging designers, went to Chopova Lowena, while the New Establishment Menswear and Womenswear Awards were won by Priya Ahluwalia (Ahluwalia) and Marco Capaldo (16Arlington), respectively.
The event was punctuated by a breathtaking performance by Chloe x Halle, adding a vibrant energy to an already electrifying evening.
