John Galliano is back.
The designer has announced a two-year creative partnership with Zara, giving him the reins to reinterpret the brand’s archives and craft fresh collections rooted in Zara’s recent history.
Set to debut in stores this September, the collaboration marks Galliano’s first major project following a two-year hiatus after his final Maison Margiela show in 2024.
Speaking on the partnership, Galliano said: “I’ve been curating some of Zara’s recent archives… I’m super excited, because it’s not something I’ve done before. That kind of tickles me — the newness, the excitement, the actual process.”
The deal, facilitated through Galliano’s connection with Inditex chair Marta Ortega Perez, is one of Zara’s most significant long-term designer collaborations to date, signaling a bold move for both the designer and the global retailer.
