DONALD TRUMP DECLARED WINNER OF THE 2024 US ELECTION

Donald Trump has declared victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, bringing him close to a historic return to the White House.
Speaking to cheering supporters in Florida, Trump promised to bring a “new golden age for America” if confirmed as the winner. According to CBS projections, Trump only needs one more state to reach the 270 electoral votes needed to win.

If successful, he would be the first former president in over 130 years to make a comeback to the presidency.
Trump’s party, the Republicans, are also expected to gain control of the Senate, after winning key races in West Virginia and Ohio.

At a campaign event in Washington, D.C., Harris supporters were left disappointed when her team announced she would not be making an appearance.

Exit polls suggest that Harris, who campaigned strongly for women’s rights, won less support
from female voters than Joe Biden did in 2020. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives remains uncertain, with Republicans having a slim control before the vote.

Both parties have prepared for possible legal challenges as results continue to roll in, though no major incidents of violence were reported on Election Day.
Trump, 78, could set several records if officially elected.
He would be the oldest president in U.S. history and the first to return to office after being impeached twice and facing criminal convictions.

Election authorities are on alert as final results approach, with reports of bomb threat hoaxes
across the country.
