In a captivating display at Paris Haute Couture Week, Dior‘s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri, masterfully blended historical references with contemporary design. The collection drew inspiration from Christian Dior’s 1951 “Amazone” dress and the 1960s Dior Sport line, reimagining these archival pieces to explore themes of femininity, strength, and movement. The show commenced with the evocative imagery of an arrow soaring down the runway, symbolizing precision and power, setting the tone for a collection that celebrates the dynamic essence of womanhood.
Chiuri’s designs showcased a harmonious fusion of structure and fluidity. Tailored jackets and corseted bodices were paired with flowing skirts and dresses, creating silhouettes that emphasized both form and freedom. The use of techno fabrics, straps, pockets, zippers, and slouchy tailoring lent an urban and futuristic feel to the collection, while stretchy knitted fabrics were sliced and wrapped snugly around models, ensuring ease of movement.
