Denim Tears and Levi’s are set to release their fourth collaborative collection on April 4, 2025, paying homage to the rich cultural heritage of New Orleans and the Black Masking Indian tradition. This eight-piece lineup is a tribute to the artistry and community spirit of the Young Seminole Hunters and Big Chief Demond Melancon, blending historical significance with contemporary design.
The collection features standout pieces such as the Photo Trucker Jacket and Photo Jeans, both adorned with imagery of the Young Seminole Hunters in their ceremonial attire. These garments are intentionally crafted with unique imperfections, ensuring no two items are identical. Additionally, the lineup includes mid-indigo washed track jackets and pants with cotton fleur de lis prints, a crewneck sweatshirt with similar artwork, and a baseball tee inspired by Southern tablecloth patterns, symbolizing family gatherings and communal celebrations.

Tremaine Emory, founder of Denim Tears, emphasized the cultural significance of New Orleans as a confluence of African, Indigenous, and French influences that have profoundly shaped American identity. He stated, “This collection honors the sacred traditions of the Mardi Gras Indians while recognizing their continued relevance in contemporary culture. The intentional imperfections in our printing process reflect the human touch behind these traditions—something that can’t be mass-produced or replicated.”
The Denim Tears x Levi’s Season 4 collection will be available globally starting April 4 on levi.com, the Levi’s app, select Levi’s stores, the Denim Tears website, and in-store at African Diaspora Goods in New York City. This collaboration not only showcases innovative fashion but also serves as a platform to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural narratives of the Black Masking Indian tradition.
