It’s official: Davido is releasing his first single of the year, 2024, with YG Marley.
Last week, SSD reported that Davido and YG Marley were spotted together in Lagos, sparking rumors of an impending collaboration. On October 1, Davido shared a social media post showing the duo in a studio, with a snippet of their upcoming song. “First single of the year loading… Happy Independence,” he wrote.
The teaser reveals a heavy Amapiano influence, blending Davido’s local vibes with YG Marley’s contemporary rasta style.
Meanwhile, Omah Lay also announced over the weekend that he has a song coming up with Davido.
Joshua Omaru “YG” Marley, is the son of Lauryn Hill and grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley.
