Following the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 show in Milan, Bottega Veneta has ventured into the beauty industry with a new collection of gender-neutral fragrances. Under the direction of Matthieu Blazy, the Italian fashion house is expanding its craft-driven approach to include five luxurious eau de parfums.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Blazy shared insights into the development process, emphasizing a desire for non-gendered scents. “From the first meeting, I said I didn’t want anything gendered—zero,” Blazy explained, noting that it’s essential to adapt to the evolving understanding of gender identity, particularly among younger consumers.
These innovative fragrances not only look ahead but also remain deeply connected to Bottega Veneta’s Venetian heritage. The scent compositions incorporate a global array of natural ingredients, including Italian Bergamot, Madagascan Geranium, Guatemalan Cardamom, French Angelica oil, and Somali Myrrh.
The bottles, designed like traditional Murano glass, feature a sculptural, imperfect aesthetic with air bubbles formed through a novel production process. Croatian wood caps crown the bottles, which rest on slabs of Verde Alpi marble.
Luxury brands have increasingly shifted focus to the beauty and personal care sector, with notable releases such as Pharrell’s fragrance for Louis Vuitton in July and Acne Studios’ collaboration with Frederic Malle earlier this year. However, Bottega Veneta’s new line stands out as the most expansive, featuring the highest price point at $450 per bottle.
The collection, which includes scents like “Déjà Minuit,” “Colpo di Sole,” “Acqua Sale,” “Alchemie,” and “Come with Me,” is now available in 100ml bottles and as a discovery sample set on the brand’s website.
