ASAP ROCKY BECOMES RAY BAN’s FIRST CREATIVE DIRECTOR

In a groundbreaking move, Ray-Ban has appointed A$AP Rocky as its first-ever creative director. The renowned eyewear brand announced this partnership on February 21, 2025, marking a significant fusion of fashion and music. A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, is set to lead creative projects and shape the brand’s future image, bringing his unique artistic vision to the iconic label.

Expressing his enthusiasm, A$AP Rocky stated, “I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving.” He emphasized his excitement about contributing to the brand’s legacy and developing its next chapter. Ray-Ban’s president, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, welcomed Rocky, highlighting his innovative spirit and alignment with the brand’s values of pioneering and courage.

As his inaugural project, A$AP Rocky will unveil the “Blacked Out Collection” in April 2025. This line features redesigned versions of Ray-Ban’s Mega Icons, incorporating ultra-black lenses and gold-plated details. The collection aims to blend the brand’s rich heritage with contemporary culture, reflecting Rocky’s distinctive style and creative direction.

This appointment comes shortly after A$AP Rocky’s acquittal in a felony assault trial, underscoring a period of personal and professional renewal for the artist. Following the trial, he celebrated with his partner, Rihanna, and their two children, gifting her a diamond pendant symbolizing justice. Beyond his new role at Ray-Ban, Rocky is also set to co-chair the 2025 Met Gala and continues to work on his forthcoming album, “Don’t Be Dumb.”
