ANA DE ARMAS DAZZLES AS THE FACE OF LOUIS VUITTON’S MOST LAVISH HIGH JEWELRY COLLECTIONS YET

Louis Vuitton’s legacy of blending heritage with innovation finds a luminous new expression in its latest high jewelry endeavors–the Deep Time and Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds collections. At the heart of both artistic campaigns is the radiant Ana de Armas, whose appointment as ambassador brings timeless elegance and cinematic gravitas to two of the Maison’s most ambitious and intricate jewelry showcases to date. With her striking presence, she embodies the very ethos of Louis Vuitton’s craftsmanship: classic allure reinvented for the modern muse.

Unveiled in 2023 at the majestic Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, the Deep Time collection marked a breathtaking milestone for Louis Vuitton–its most extensive high jewelry line yet, boasting over 170 one-of-a-kind creations. Designed by Artistic Director Francesca Amfitheatrof, the collection is a poetic journey through the Earth’s origins, split into two elemental chapters: Geology and Life. This chronological narrative of creation finds expression in extraordinary gems and meticulous settings, from volcanic birth to the bloom of organic life. Ana de Armas stars in the campaign wearing the show-stopping “Bones” necklace, a multi-transformable piece that combines a 43.58-carat Australian opal, a 20.93-carat Paraiba tourmaline, and nearly 100 carats of emerald-cut tanzanites–all composed in a design that took over 4,500 hours to perfect. Other highlights include the “Gondwana” necklace, which pays tribute to the ancient supercontinent with seven no-oil Colombian emeralds nestled in a collar of 259 precisely-cut diamonds, and the “Wave” necklace featuring a 40.80-carat Sri Lankan sapphire alongside a 6-carat flower-cut diamond. Each piece fuses geology and artistry to evoke the raw grandeur of the natural world, interpreted through Louis Vuitton’s visionary lens.

Continuing this trajectory of grandeur, the 2024 Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds collection draws inspiration not from the Earth’s past, but from a period of human brilliance, 19th-century France, the same era in which Louis Vuitton himself revolutionized luxury travel. The collection’s 220 pieces span 13 themes, all nodding to the dawn of modern craftsmanship, architecture, invention, and artistry. Central to the campaign is again Ana de Armas, who wears pieces that transcend jewelry and become wearable sculptures of history and homage. The “Cœur de Paris” necklace, for instance, stuns with a 56.23-carat deep orangy-pink diamond set among 26 Monogram Star-cut diamonds, a tribute to the Eiffel Tower and Parisian romanticism. The “Victoire” necklace takes this tribute even further, reimagining the Eiffel Tower in miniature using a golden honeycomb structure from which a 15.16-carat Flower-cut diamond is suspended like a crystalline beacon.

The Maison’s commitment to storytelling through stonework is evident in every detail. The “Splendeur” necklace took 3,217 hours to produce and features 52 fully traceable Mozambican rubies, a testament to both ethical sourcing and aesthetic richness. The “Séduction” necklace explores textile traditions and Louis Vuitton’s own historic roots with a 12.92-carat Zambian emerald entwined in ropes of yellow gold and platinum–a reference to the materials used in crafting the brand’s original steamer trunks. Meanwhile, the “Vision” necklace channels 19th-century railroads, boasting a commanding 50.01-carat yellow sapphire from Sri Lanka flanked by star-cut diamonds that mirror industrial-age geometries. And in a first for the brand, the Élégance Tiara crowns the collection, merging the maison’s iconic motifs with the regal flexibility of white gold mesh and LV star-cut diamonds that shimmer with every movement.

Louis Vuitton’s use of blockchain technology to trace its gemstones–as seen in the rubies of Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds–further affirms its commitment to sustainable luxury. More than a marketing campaign, Ana de Armas’ involvement has elevated these high jewelry launches into global cultural moments, where heritage, history, and Haute Joaillerie converge. As the Cuban-Spanish actress commands red carpets and global screens alike, she also becomes the perfect vessel for the Maison’s most visionary expressions of identity, transformation, and legacy.

Together, Deep Time and Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds tell a story as old as the Earth and as modern as blockchain, one where rare stones, imaginative design, and a muse like Ana de Armas reveal that true luxury isn’t just worn, it’s witnessed.
