Aminé Unveils His Latest New Balance Collaboration: The “BTEE740”

Aminé is teaming up with New Balance once again for an exciting 2024 collaboration. The highlight of this collection is the New Balance 740v2, dubbed the “BTEE740” named after Aminé’s high school, Benson Polytechnic in Portland.

The sneaker features vibrant orange mesh and blue leather accents, reflecting the school’s colours. Personal details like the school crest and references to Aminé’s class and the Radio KBPS program, which kickstarted his musical journey, are also included. The BTEE470 pays homage to Benson Tech in not only its name, “BTEE” is written on the midsole, with more of the school’s signage on both the heel caps and the tongue.

The sneakers are packaged in a box that pays homage to Benson Tech’s Radio KBPS program. Designed to resemble a computer, the box is decorated with stickers on the exterior and features a keyboard-inspired design on the inside.

“Three studio albums. Four mixtapes. 2x Award loser. 11x platinum. PSU dropout. 5 billion streams. Festival founder. Hometown hero. Two NB collabs. And yeah, a Benson grad,” reads the pamphlet included in the box.

he Radio KBPS program at Benson Tech was the beginning of my musical journey,” he wrote on Twitter when revealing the collaboration. “I wanted to pay homage to that fact with a $25,000 donation to radio program graduates to help with their college expenses.”
