Adidas Originals has partnered with New York-based designer Willy Chavarria to launch a limited-edition capsule collection during Paris Fashion Week. This collaboration merges Chavarria’s bold design aesthetic with Adidas’ iconic sportswear legacy, resulting in a unique range of apparel and footwear. The collection includes track jackets, track pants, football jerseys, bodysuits, and a distinctive sneaker silhouette featuring a tapered toe. Some pieces are emblazoned with the word “Jabbar,” paying homage to NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, whom Chavarria admires for both his athletic achievements and advocacy for equality.

To celebrate the launch, a vintage lowrider Chevy Impala will cruise through the streets of Paris, stopping at secret locations to distribute limited-edition, Paris-exclusive merchandise. The lowrider’s journey will culminate outside the show venue, providing fans with a final opportunity to acquire pieces from the collection. For those unable to attend in person, tickets distributed during the pop-up will grant access to a hidden page on the Adidas CONFIRMED app, where the collection can be purchased and picked up at the Adidas Originals Paris flagship store.
Willy Chavarria’s Paris Fashion Week runway show is scheduled for January 24th at 12 PM EST. This event marks Chavarria’s Paris Fashion Week debut and continues his exploration of cultural contributions of Mexican Americans, especially through a Southern California lens. The collaboration with Adidas reflects Chavarria’s commitment to infusing his cultural history into his work, aiming to showcase the value of brown-skinned people, black people, queer people, and trans people under the American flag, emphasizing their presence and purpose in the country.
