On January 24, 2025, Nigerian artist 1da Banton unveiled his highly anticipated EP, Walk With Me, inviting listeners on a rich and immersive journey through the vibrant world of Afrobeats. The six-track project exhibits 1da Banton’s distinct singing style in a soundscape that is as authentically African as it is modern. Produced entirely by 1da Banton and his team, the EP showcases his versatility and ability to bridge cultures while remaining deeply rooted in his musical heritage.
The project kicks off with “Intro (Walk With Me),” a captivating opener that sets the tone for the EP. The track is a personal invitation from 1da Banton, welcoming listeners into his world as he pays homage to the legacy of Afrobeats while carving out a space for his unique interpretation of the genre. “Baby Oku” sees 1da Banton teaming up with acclaimed guitarist Fiokee to create a love song that exudes warmth and charm. Fiokee’s signature guitar riffs perfectly complement 1da Banton’s vocals, as well as the female backup vocals, creating a harmonious blend of Afrobeat and highlife influences that make the track irresistibly catchy.
“Ilebogus,” featuring Masidi, adds a fresh dynamic to the EP with its smooth and flowy vibe and captivating rhythms.
