Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again,” marking the return of the iconic vigilante to the small screen. The series is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, with the first season consisting of nine episodes. The new series is part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is being released under Marvel Studios’ “Marvel Television” label.
The action packed trailer offers a glimpse into the intense and mature themes that fans have come to expect from the Daredevil narrative. It showcases visceral action sequences, including bone-crunching combat and explosive confrontations, indicating that this series will maintain the gritty tone of its predecessor–the first Daredevil series. Notably, the trailer features a tense exchange between Daredevil and Kingpin, highlighting the deep-seated animosity and complex relationship between the two characters.
Helmed by showrunner Dario Scardapane, with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead serving as lead directors, the series plot is set about five years after the events of the original “Daredevil” series. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened senses, is diligently working to rebuild his law firm alongside close friends Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson). Their efforts to seek justice are challenged by the political ascent of Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), who has now assumed the role of mayor of New York City. This new dynamic sets the stage for a collision between Murdock’s quest for justice and Fisk’s villainous control over the city.
The release of the trailer has ignited excitement among fans, many of whom have praised it as a perfect continuation of the original series. The return of beloved characters certainly helps matters with many viewers expressing intense anticipation for the new series, especially because of that.
