LIZ SANYA OFFICIALLY SETS A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR CREATING “THE WORLD’S LARGEST SANDAL.”

British-Nigerian designer Liz Sanya has successfully completed her attempt to create the world’s largest sandal, aiming to secure a Guinness World Record. The project spanned from January 2 to 4, 2025, at 37 Lawal Street, Pixel Park, Lekki, Lagos, attracting numerous supporters who witnessed the creation of the massive pink sandal. 

Upon completion, Sanya remarked, “Believing her was free while doubting her will cost a price,” reflecting her confidence and determination throughout the endeavor. Her achievement has garnered widespread acclaim, with fans and fellow designers praising her innovation and contribution to the fashion industry.

This accomplishment adds to Nigeria’s growing list of Guinness World Record holders. In recent years, individuals like chef Hilda Bassey, who set the record for the longest cooking marathon, and art student Chancellor Ahaghotu, who achieved the longest painting marathon, have showcased the nation’s talent and determination on the global stage.
