Renowned Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has teamed up with American comedian Druski, the mastermind behind the hilarious online show “Coulda Been Records.”
Launched in 2019 as a parody record label, “Coulda Been Records” started as a mock talent show where Druski “signed” potential music stars. The premise? Showcase the “best” singers, dancers, and rappers out there. Except, most acts weren’t just bad – they were catastrophically awful. And that’s precisely the point.
The show’s ironic setup was designed for laughs, and it delivered! Its wild success transformed “Coulda Been Records” into a legitimate record label seeking real talent, while maintaining its comedic spirit. Today, it remains one of the internet’s funniest offerings.
Over the years, “Coulda Been Records” has hosted A-list celebrity guest judges, including Chloe Bailey, Drake, Jack Harlow, Ella Mai, Kodak Black, Chance the Rapper, Justin Bieber, Antonio Brown, 21 Savage, and Ice Spice. This impressive lineup speaks volumes about the show’s appeal and success.
Druski has taken a bold step beyond U.S. borders, expanding to Nigeria. In October, he announced his international leap by hosting the first-ever “Coulda Been Records Nigeria” auditions in Lagos. The results are just as hilarious as the original.
