The Nigerian football scene is getting a fresh jolt as big names from the entertainment industry cross into the sport, and the latest big name to join the trend is music icon Davido. The singer has now entered the game as a football club owner with the debut of 30BG Sports FC.
With his move, Davido joins the ranks of other stars like D’banj, and Don Jazzy, who have all thrown their hats into the Lagos Liga ring with their teams. While Davido hasn’t publicly commented on this latest acquisition, the Lagos Liga organizers have officially confirmed it, welcoming him with a statement:
“Introducing 30BG Sports Club to Lagos Liga 2024. The 001 has landed. With Davido bringing his energy into Lagos Liga 2024, we have great ASSURANCE that IF opponents are not careful, there is a TIMELESS promise they could FALL because this competition just got RISKY! But other Lagos Liga clubs will do everything to prevent a Champion Sound for 30BG SC.”
As 30BG Sports Club joins the fray, it’s clear this season will be anything but ordinary. The battle lines are drawn, and with Davido in the lineup, the stakes just got higher.
