The rumors about GTA 6’s release being pushed back to 2026 have been refuted by Take-Two, confirming that the game is still set to drop in late 2025, as previously announced.
The game’s publisher has made it clear that the title is right on track, despite speculations suggesting otherwise.
In its latest financial report, Take-Two reiterated that the game’s release window hasn’t shifted, and fans can expect to see GTA 6 in the “fall of calendar year 2025.” The game’s first trailer was released nearly a year ago and it set the gaming world on fire.
While GTA 6 remains one of the most awaited titles, Take-Two isn’t feeling any pressure to rush its release. Why?
Because GTA 5 is still raking in the dough. The game continues to outperform expectations, having sold over 205 million copies worldwide. GTA Online is also thriving, with new content like the Bottom Dollar Bounties and updates such as the revamped Assault on ATT-16 mode keeping players hooked.
Meanwhile, fans of Rockstar’s other beloved franchise, Red Dead Redemption, got a surprise treat with its recent announcement for a PC release. Originally launched for PS3 and Xbox 360, the game has now been re-released for PS5 and Nintendo Switch, but the PC version will take things up a notch with 4K resolution, ultrawide support, and enhanced graphics. It’s a sign of what’s to come, but for GTA 6 fans, patience is key, as the game is unlikely to hit PC before 2026.
As for PS5 Pro owners, there’s hope the game will be optimized for the console, though it might not hit 60fps. But with Take-Two’s ability to deliver hits, it’s safe to say GTA 6 will break records when it finally drops.
