BET ANNOUNCES BLACK MEN’S SUMMIT

BET Media has announced a Black Men’s Summit set to air on Tuesday, October 29, at 10 PM ET/9 PM CT.

Hosted by D.L. Hughley, the summit assembles an influential lineup of Black male voices to dissect the pressing social, economic, and political issues facing their communities—and the nation—just weeks before the 2024 presidential election.

Joining Hughley are big names like actor Michael Ealy, hip-hop architect Jermaine Dupri, attorney Ben Crump, NAACP chief Derrick Johnson, National Urban League leader Marc Morial, and Congressman Steven Horsford.

Artists like Vic Mensa and radio personality Kenny Burns capture street perspectives from battleground states, lending raw voices to the polished summit conversation.

The summit zeroes in on the economic blows dealt by the pandemic and the inflation storm hitting Black communities, with Kenny Burns reflecting on the struggle in Atlanta, while Charles Phillips, Black Economic Alliance co-chair, highlights systemic inequities. Hughley himself adds grit to the wage gap discourse, sharing firsthand the reality of the fight against low wages.

Politically, Horsford tackles voter misinformation aimed at sidelining Black men, a theme echoed by Jermaine Dupri, who insists that miseducation is holding back Black political power. From voting rights to reproductive issues, the summit draws a blueprint for confronting what’s at stake this election season.
