Playboi Carti and The Weeknd have teamed up once again for their latest single, “Timeless.” The track, which runs just over four minutes, features a star-studded production team that includes Pharrell, Ojivolta, Mike Dean, and Twisco. “Timeless” blends Carti’s laid-back rap flow with The Weeknd’s signature melodic style, creating a smooth and captivating song that highlights the strengths of both artists.
This marks their second collaboration, following their previous work on “Popular” alongside Madonna for The Idol soundtrack. The duo first premiered “Timeless” live during The Weeknd’s special performance in Brazil in early September.
The song is expected to be part of The Weeknd’s upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow, which will complete his trilogy that began with After Hours and Dawn FM. In a poetic album announcement, The Weeknd reflected on themes of time, self-reflection, and emotional struggles: “Yesterday was fourteen years ago… we held our breath falling into a shimmering sea in the after hours of the night. Attempted to cleanse the wounds with melodies and lights, a bulletproof bandage to shield what lies beneath… I still haven’t faced myself.”
You can now stream “Timeless” on Spotify and Apple Music.
