A’ja Wilson has cemented her status as a WNBA legend by winning her third MVP award. To honor this remarkable achievement, Nike is set to release a special edition MVP t-shirt.
Wilson was unanimously voted the 2024 WNBA Most Valuable Player, receiving all 67 first-place votes from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters, making her the first unanimous MVP since the league’s debut in 1997. This latest accolade places Wilson alongside greats like Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, and Lauren Jackson, each with three MVP titles.
At 28, Ace‘s centre boasts impressive stats, averaging 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.58 blocks, and 1.79 steals over 38 games. Wilson has made history by leading the league in total points, rebounds, and blocks in a single season, breaking records for scoring and rebounding along the way. With her team currently in the playoffs, they’re chasing an unprecedented third consecutive WNBA championship.
Nike’s MVP t-shirt, designed in black, highlights an image of Wilson’s face, including her iconic grillz, which became viral from the 2024 All-Star Weekend red carpet.
Her signature star logo is prominently displayed next to the Nike Swoosh on the front, while the back lists her numerous accomplishments, including being named WNBA Rookie of the Year and six-time WNBA All-Star. Nike plans to launch the t-shirt soon through its online store.
