For sacai Men SS27 menswear collection, sacai brought a fresh perspective to Paris Fashion Week. Titled “THE NEW CLASSICS,” the new collection by creative director Chitose Abe takes traditional, clean preppy style and mixes it with the high-energy feel of street subcultures.
The result is a highly wearable lineup that proves traditional wardrobe pieces become much more interesting when they are remixed with modern streetwear ideas.

Remaking the Classics: The Brooks Brothers Collaboration
The main idea behind the sacai Men SS27 collection is about bringing new energy to old designs. sacai teamed up with the historic American clothing brand Brooks Brothers to completely change how classic business wear looks.

Traditional navy blazers, crisp button-down shirts, and formal trousers were sliced open, layered up, and put back together using sacai’s signature style.

Abe added raw edges, reconstructed necklines, and casual chin ties to turn these strict office outfits into comfortable, everyday streetwear.
Sound System Vibes: Partnering with Soul II Soul
The collection also takes inspiration from the legendary London musical group and sound system Soul II Soul.

Bringing a message of fun, community, and love, the clothing features special fabrics printed with old-school photos from the group’s famous Sunday night club parties at London’s The Africa Centre.

Casual staples like everyday T-shirts, cozy knit cardigans, heavy bomber jackets, and comfy sweatshirts are decorated with the group’s famous Funki Dred logo and classic song titles like “Back to Life” and “Keep on Moving.”

Fresh Footwear: The BIRKENSTOCK Hybrid Clogs
The footwear on the runway stole the show through a major new collaboration with BIRKENSTOCK. sacai combined its love for layering with BIRKENSTOCK’s classic craftsmanship to create a unique hybrid shoe.

The design fuses two famous models—the Boston clog and the Arizona sandal—into one multi-strapped shoe. These suede slides feature double and triple-strapped buckles over clean colors like black, beige, and slate grey.

The shoes are joined by a matching suede utility bag that features BIRKENSTOCK’s signature bone-pattern tread on the bottom and an adjustable strap.
Wearable Art: Custom Ink Prints by Dr. Woo
To make the footwear collaboration even more special, select versions of the hybrid suede sandals feature custom artwork by legendary Los Angeles tattoo artist Dr. Woo.
“Classic designs get a cool, rebellious update when you mix them with modern street culture.”
Known worldwide for his incredibly detailed, fine-line geometric tattoo designs, Dr. Woo printed his signature clean lines directly onto the soft suede shoes.

This artwork matches the overall theme of the show, proving that functional everyday pieces can easily double as wearable art.
