After more than five decades of heartbreak, near misses, false dawns, and endless rebuilding projects, the New York Knicks NBA Champions headline is finally reality.
On Saturday night in San Antonio, the Knicks defeated the Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to capture their first championship since 1973, ending a 53-year wait that has defined the franchise for generations of fans.

However, San Antonio struggled to find enough offensive support elsewhere.
Stephon Castle shot just 1-for-10 from the field, while De’Aaron Fox managed only seven points on 3-of-15 shooting.

Although the Knicks won the series 4-1, the Finals were far more competitive than the final scoreline suggests.
Games 2 and 4 were both decided by a single point, with momentum swinging repeatedly throughout the series.
