HUMAN MADE TO LAUNCH NEW LABEL “BUFFER” WITH WTAPS’ TETSU NISHIYAMA AS CREATIVE DIRECTOR

A new project is emerging from the world of Human Made. The brand founded by Nigo is preparing to introduce a new label called Buffer, expanding its creative universe beyond its core line.

The upcoming brand will feature a character named Buffy, the Pink Rabbit, who is expected to serve as the mascot and central visual identity for the project. Early previews circulating online suggest the character will play a key role in shaping the brand’s aesthetic and storytelling.

For the label’s first chapter, Tetsu Nishiyama — best known as the founder of WTAPS — has been tapped as Buffer’s inaugural creative director. Nishiyama is expected to bring his signature utilitarian and military-influenced design approach to the new venture.

The debut Buffer collection is reportedly scheduled to arrive in April 2026, marking a new collaboration between two influential figures in Japanese streetwear.

With Nigo overseeing the project and Nishiyama shaping its first collection, Buffer could signal the start of another chapter in the broader Human Made ecosystem.
