Shank Comics has been named Best Streamer of the Year at the SiGMA Africa Awards 2026, one of the continent’s leading gaming and digital entertainment industry events organized by SiGMA World.
The award marks a major milestone for the creator, whose online presence first gained traction through his comedic YouTube content before expanding into live streaming in 2024. According to Shank, the transition into streaming presented a new challenge despite similarities with his YouTube format.
Speaking about the recognition, he reflected on his journey and the uncertainty that came with trying new formats.
“I always say I don’t like awards, but this one I needed,” he shared, explaining that he started experimenting with streaming after his YouTube growth accelerated in 2023.
He also described the moment as a sign of encouragement, calling the award “God dropping me a note” and thanking his audience for supporting both his YouTube and streaming platforms.
The SiGMA Africa Awards celebrate standout figures across gaming, streaming, and digital entertainment, recognizing creators and innovators shaping the industry across the continent.
